Tidewater Community College hosted a holiday food drive from November 14-December 1 to raise awareness about hunger in Virginia and to lend a helping hand. Students, faculty, and the community were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, such as pasta, canned tuna fish, peanut butter, rice, and beans to the school.
Dunmar Moving Systems of Norfolk generously provided supplies for the food drive and delivered the donations to the FoodBank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.
Over 176,000 people, including 1 in 6 children, in Southeastern Virginia face hunger every day. Thank you to Tidewater Community College for raising awareness about the problem, and to Dunmar Moving Systems for helping to make this event a reality.
