Many companies encourage their employees to support their favorite nonprofit, like Move For Hunger. A matching gift is when a person donates to a nonprofit organization and their employer donates an equal or greater amount to the same nonprofit.
Matching gifts are one of the most common types of corporate giving, and are an incredibly easy way for you to collaborate with your employer to double or even triple your impact on the work of your chosen nonprofit.
Processing times for matching gifts vary by company, and are dependent upon how long it takes for your employer to review and approve your request. Once your matching gift request has been approved by your employer, they will disburse the matching funds to Move For Hunger on your behalf, often on a monthly or quarterly basis.
Your human resources department may ask you for Move For Hunger's Tax ID number, our 501c(3), or our W-9 form to verify our non-profit status.
