From May 2 through June 17, NorthStar Moving held their fourth Annual “Let’s Send Hunger Packing” food drive with the help of 30 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage locations throughout Southern California. This year, they were able to collect 7,132 pounds of food, which equates to about 5,900 meals! NorthStar Moving also volunteered to deliver the donations to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.

“Together we raised 5,943 meals to feed kids’ hungry tummies, surpassing our donations from last year!,” said NorthStar Moving Co-Founder Laura McHolm. “We are pleased to provide the food donations during the summer time when the need at the food banks is the greatest. When hungry kids lose access to daily school sponsored meals during the summer, their struggle with hunger worsens. I am so grateful for the participation of all the wonderful folks at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and our entire community. Without them this would not be possible. Every year, I dream this will be the last year we will have hungry children in our communities. Please remember, if you missed the opportunity to drop off a donation during our food drive, your local food bank would no doubt cherish your monetary donations. “We were excited to once again join forces with NorthStar Moving Company, a long time participant in the Coldwell Banker Concierge Program, to help feed hungry children throughout the region,” said Teresa Howe, Regional VP Client Development Group for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “The combined efforts surpassed anything we could have expected and we are ecstatic with the results!”
Since the annual drive began in 2013, “Let’s Send Hunger Packing” has donated approximately 21,500 meals to local families in need.

"They understand that hunger never takes a vacation and that summer can be especially hard for families in Los Angeles with limited resources. Because of their generosity, we are able to help feed the 1 in 5 children in L.A. County who live in food insecure homes."
