In late February, students from Monmouth University’s Office of Leadership and Transition Programming held a week long food drive. It was a great experience for the students, who put the drive together themselves, to take an active leadership role at the university in the name of service!
Non-perishable food items were collected from February 20-24 and were delivered to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties by Lowy’s Moving Service, a Wheaton agent. The students were able to collect 99 pounds of food, which equates to 83 meals for people in the community who are struggling with food insecurity.

Monmouth University continues to be a valuable partner in Move for Hunger's quest to end hunger. They've now collected 5,300 pounds of food since 2010 -that's more than 4,400 meals!
Nearly 120,000 people, including 1 in 6 children, in Monmouth and Ocean Counties face hunger each day. Thank you to Monmouth University for once again helping to combat hunger in your community. Bravo!
