Invictus Prep Charter School in Brooklyn, NY, hosted their first annual holiday food drive, which was preceded by their recent Thanksgiving food drive, from December 6-21 in an effort to help out their neighbors in need this holiday season.
Students and faculty members donated a grand total of 280 pounds of food - that's the equivalent of more than 230 meals!
A-1 First Class Moving, an Atlas Van Lines agent, generously volunteered to provide collection boxes and delivered the donations to the Island Harvest Food Bank.
There are approximately 515,000 people, including 1 in 5 children, in Kings County that are facing hunger each day. Many thanks to the generous students and faculty of Invictus Prep Charter School for lending a hand to their neighbors in need this holiday season.
Anyone can host a food drive. We can help!
