The Greene School in West Palm Beach, Florida held a Thanksgiving Food Drive from November 14-18.
Students were encouraged to get involved in the fight against hunger by collecting non-perishable food items to help provide Thanksgiving meals for their neighbors in need.
Members of the West Palm Beach community were also urged to support the effort by bringing donations of Thanksgiving-themed food, such as stuffing, instant potatoes, canned fruits/vegetables, and cranberry sauce, to the school.
The community was able to collect nearly 340 lbs of food! That's enough to provide 285 meals to local families struggling with food insecurity.
Brown Moving & Storage provided boxes for the collection and volunteered to pick up/deliver the donations to Feeding South Florida at the conclusion of the drive.
There are nearly 200,000 people in Palm Beach County, including 1 in 4 children, who struggle with food insecurity. We are thankful that The Greene School and Brown Moving & Storage recognized the urgency of the problem and joined our fight to end hunger.
Anyone can host a food drive. We can help!
