Girls on the Run Delaware hosted a food drive during their annual 5k, presented by Discover, which was held on May 14th at the Wilmington Waterfront. Hopkins & Sons, Inc., an Atlas agent, provided their time and resoruces to collect the food and deliver it to the Food Bank of Delaware. In addition to the race, collection points were set up where some of the runners attend school.
The event was a resounding success, as Girls on the Run more than doubled their goal of 1,000 pounds by collecting over 2,440 pounds of food! That's enough to provide over 2,033 meals to their Delaware neighbors in need.
