Dixie Moving and Storage, a Bekins Van Lines agent, teamed up with Cherry Creek Radio to host a Thanksgiving food drive which took place at the Hurst Ace Hardware Store in St. George, Utah on November 22. Dixie Moving and Storage had one of their vans parked outside of the store and challenged the local community to donate enough non-perishable food items to fill the vehicle.
The food drive proved to be a success as a whopping 1,060 pounds of food was collected and delivered to the Utah Food Bank. That equates to nearly 900 meals!
There are approximately 420,000 food insecure people in the state of Utah, including 1 in 5 children. Thank you to Dixie Moving and Storage, Cherry Creek Radio, Hurst Ace Hardware, and everyone who made a donation for lending a hand to your neighbors in need this Thanksgiving season!
Anyone can host a food drive. We can help!
