A woman from Roeland Park, Kansas hosted a food drive from December 10-18 at both Jacob Loose Memorial Park in Kansas City and R Park. Members or the local community were asked to bring non-perishable food items, such as peanut butter, canned meats, canned fruits/vegetables, pasta, rice, and beans to the drop off locations. The community responded by donating 600 pounds of food - enough to provide 500 meals to their neighbors in need.
Beltmann Relocation Group of Lenexa provided the boxes for the food drive and delivered all of the donations to the Harvesters Community Food Network.
Nearly 384,000 people, including 1 in 5 children, in the greater Kansas City area face hunger each day. Many thanks to Esmie and the staff of Beltmann Relocation Group of Lenexa for their kindness and generosity!
Anyone can host a food drive. We can help!
