Residence Inn by Marriott at Oyster Point in South San Francisco, CA held a food drive from November 17-December 19 to help fight hunger in the Bay Area during the holiday season. Employees, guests, and members of the local community were asked to donate non-perishable food items, such as peanut butter, tuna fish, pasta, rice, beans, and canned soups, to help their neighbors in need. More than 150 pounds of food was collected, enough to provide 120 meals.
AMS Relocation, Inc., a Bekins agent, generously donated boxes for the event and volunteered to deliver all of the donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties.
More than 277,000 people in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties in California are food insecure, including 1 in 6 children. Thank you to the staff at Residence Inn by Marriott at Oyster Point, the crew at AMS Relocation, and to all the donors who helped to make this food drive a success.
Start fighting hunger in your community with a food drive of your own!
