Hot Sand, a glassblowing studio in Asbury Park, NJ hosted a food drive in November and December to help fight hunger at the Jersey Shore.
The studio held "walk-in events" for patrons to blow their own glass pumpkin or ornament. They offered $5 off to anyone who donated a non-perishable food item, such as peanut butter, canned goods, and pasta. Forty-five pounds of food were collected, enough to provide 30 meals to their neighbors in need. Additionally, Hot Sand was able to raise $330 in donations from the walk-in activities.
Lowy's Moving Service, a Wheaton agent, kindly donated boxes for the event and delivered the food to The Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
Together, they were able to provide assistance to the nearly 120,000 people in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, including 1 in 6 children, who are facing hunger each day.
Thank you to Hot Sand and Lowy's Moving Service for your combined efforts to fight hunger!
