Animo Pat Brown Charter High School hosted a food drive from November 1-11 to help provide meals for their Los Angeles neighbors in need. To help encourage donations, the school turned the drive into a competition between the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors to see which class could collect the most food. The winners would earned the right to wear any outfit they wanted on a select Friday instead of their usual uniforms.
Together, the school collected nearly 3,800 pounds of food - that's the equivalent of 3,200 meals that will be provided to people struggling with food insecurity in their community.
Ace Relocation Systems of Los Angeles generously provided the supplies for the event and volunteered to deliver all of the donations to the Foodbank of Southern California.
Over 5 million people, including 1 in 5 children, are food insecure in California. Thank you to the students, teachers, and administrators at Animo Pat Brown Charter High School and to our friends at Ace Relocation Systems for working to fight hunger in your community!
