Trinity Property Consultants Hold Summer Beach Bash Fundraiser

July 1, 2019

Trinity Property Consultants did their part to help us fight hunger during the summer by organizing a Beach Bash Fundraiser at six multi-family apartment communities!

TrinityPropertyConsultantsSummerBeachBashFundraiser2019-ArriveNorthScottsdale (4).JPGFood banks face their greatest need during the summer, when classes end and children are no longer receiving breakfast and/or lunch at school. Move For Hunger helps to keep the shelves stocked by collecting food from people who are moving, holding food drives, and through large-scale food rescues. We can't continue to do any of that, however, without financial support.

In June, Trinity Property Consultants asked residents at the 6 participating properties to make a donation to support our hunger relief and food rescue programs. Anyone who donated received a beach ball cutout on which they could write their name. All of the beach balls where then prominently displayed at the property to raise awareness about the cause and to encourage others to contribute.

A grand total of $135 was donated - which will allow Move For Hunger to provide more than 250 meals to people who are facing hunger!

Thank you to Trinity Property Consultants, the staff at each of the participating communities, and all of the residents who made a donation for supporting our mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger!

Inflation & food insecurity are on the rise

Cuts to SNAP benefits and inflation have had a devastating economic impact and filled the lines at food banks and pantries across the country. More than 47 million Americans including 1 in 5 children are struggling with food insecurity and do not know where their next meal is coming from.

For people of color and other minorities, the situation is even worse. Hunger disproportionately affects the Black population, the Latinx community, LGBTQ+ individuals, and more.

USDA TERMINATES FOOD SECURITY REPORT

September 22: The USDA announced termination of future Household Food Security Reports USDA, which had tracked hunger nationwide for nearly 30 years. The most recent data revealed that one in seven households — 47.4 million people, including 13.8 million children — were food insecure. For more than three decades, the report was been the gold standard for measuring whether a household lacks consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life. “Eliminating data collection strips away the evidence that proves these programs work, where investment is needed, and who is being left out,” Crystal FitzSimons, president, Food Research & Action Center said in a statement.
