The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges hosted the 2016 Apple Cup Food Drive from November 14-18 in Olympia, WA.
The Apple Cup trophy is awarded annually to the winner of the college football game between the University of Washington and Washington State University. Fans of both the Huskies and Cougars competed to see who can collect the most food! Regardless of who the winner was, together they collected nearly 230 pounds of food, enough to provide 190 meals!
Olympic Moving & Storage of Olympia, a Wheaton agent, generously picked up and delivered the donations to the Thurston County Food Bank.
There are over 970,000 people facing hunger in Washington state, including 1 in 5 children. Thank you to the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and Olympic Moving & Storage for your commitment to fighting hunger in The Evergreen State!
