
National Geographic is working on reducing food waste by encourages individuals to think twice before they throw away their produce.
According to their website, food waste is a currently a huge issue. Most people buy more food than they need and wind up throwing away 20% of it. Additionally, super markets will throw out food that won't sell because they look different, despite being fine for consumption.
Using the hashtag #UglyFoodIsBeautiful, they are encouraging everyone to get involved and find the beauty in these deformed yet delicious produce.
