Every May the National Association of Letter Carriers teams up with their local food banks for a gigantic nationwide food drive. Postal workers from all over the country urge their residents to leave donations of non-perishable food items on their porch or near their mailbox and the letter carriers collect all the donations for the less fortunate.
With so many residents participating that leaves a serious obstacle for food banks to transport all the donations from the various post offices to the local food bank. That's where our fantastic movers come in. This is the third year our movers donated their resources to take part of the Stamp Out Hunger Drive and for this year 16 movers took part in the action.
Thanks to their tremendous efforts, they delivered over 438,000 lbs. to food banks all across the country. The timing for this drive couldn't be better as many food banks find it difficult to keep their shelves full during the summer months.
438,455 lbs. = 365,000 meals for the less fortunate.
