Volunteers come out to help fight hunger in the Virginia area at a local grocery store
On bright Saturday morning in April Reliance Moving and Storage, an agent of Wheaton Van Lines parked a truck outside of Farm Fresh Groceries in Newport News Virginia.
Volunteers camped out in front of Farm Fresh for 5 hours determined to fill an entire truck with food! In the end volunteers and customers collected 1,332lbs of non perishable items. This will provide 1,024 meals to those in need.
With 1 in 10 people in Virginia not knowing where their next meal will come from every donation counts! This food was generously donated to the Food Bank of the Virginia Peninsula.
Reliance Moving and Storage not only saved the food bank money by providing free transportation of the food, but they also raised money to benefit the food bank as well! Thank you to those who came out to donate last weekend!
