Did you know that 1 in 10 families don't have enough to eat? There are over 140,000 people in Monmouth and Ocean County that are food insecure. That means that your neighbor may not know where their next meal is coming from. To help decrease this number, Orchard Crest of Wall Township recently held its 23rd annual food drive from December 12, 2015 to January 1, 2016. The public was offered the opportunity to have go on hayrides while helping feed their community. Orchard Crest collected a total of 174 pounds of food which is equivalent to 145 meals to help feed the community.
