Each month, we highlight one of the moving companies in our network for their extraordinary commitment to fighting hunger in their community. We are excited to announce that Boerman Moving and Storage, a Bekins agent, is our Mover of the Month for October, 2016!
Boerman Moving and Storage joined the Move For Hunger program in December of 2012, and they have honored their pledge to help provide meals for their neighbors in Woodridge, IL ever since. In the last month alone, Boerman has helped Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Elite Realtors in nearby Naperville deliver more than 200 pounds of food to the West Suburban Community Pantry, agreed to assist with the Thanksgiving food drive that RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals is hosting in Shorewood, AND collected 2,000 pounds of food at their fourth annual "fill-a-truck" food drive on November 12.
In June, Boerman Moving and Storage dropped off more than 1,400 pounds of food at the West Suburban Community Pantry. Food banks face their greatest need during the summer months, when classes end and children are no longer receiving free or reduced cost lunch at school. Boerman's delivery allowed the pantry to serve an additional 1,160 meals during this critical time of year.

This is not the the first time that Boerman Moving and Storage has been honored for their dedication to our cause. The crew also took home our Mover of the Month honors back in November of 2013, and they were also named our Bekins Van Lines Mover of the Year for 2014.
Since joining the program almost four years ago, Boerman Moving and Storage has delivered over 9,500 pounds of food - that's nearly 8,000 meals - to the West Suburban Community Pantry.
