Coleman American Allied

Ever since their enrollment in January of 2012, the team at Coleman American have been dedicated partners in the fight against hunger in the Peach State.

Earlier this year, we had the chance to catch up with the good folks at Coleman while at the AMSA conference and their crew could not have been more excited to ACFB - Logobring the fight against hunger to each home they move. Everyone from the managers and salespeople, to the packing and moving crew take part in the effort.  Every month the team at Coleman deliver food donations from their customers, sometimes making a delivery twice a month! And their dedication definitely shows, in just over a year they have delivered over 2,749 lbs. to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, enough to provide over 2,000 lifesaving meals to the needy in Atlanta.

Please join us in recognizing Coleman American's tremendous efforts to make their community a better place.

Coleman American now has 19 locations all across the US fighting hunger. Coleman Atlanta is leading the pack and setting a high standard. Together Coleman American agents have delivered nearly 33,000 pounds of food.

Inflation & food insecurity are on the rise

Cuts to SNAP benefits and inflation have had a devastating economic impact and filled the lines at food banks and pantries across the country. More than 47 million Americans including 1 in 5 children are struggling with food insecurity and do not know where their next meal is coming from.

For people of color and other minorities, the situation is even worse. Hunger disproportionately affects the Black population, the Latinx community, LGBTQ+ individuals, and more.

USDA TERMINATES FOOD SECURITY REPORT

September 22: The USDA announced termination of future Household Food Security Reports USDA, which had tracked hunger nationwide for nearly 30 years. The most recent data revealed that one in seven households — 47.4 million people, including 13.8 million children — were food insecure. For more than three decades, the report was been the gold standard for measuring whether a household lacks consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life. “Eliminating data collection strips away the evidence that proves these programs work, where investment is needed, and who is being left out,” Crystal FitzSimons, president, Food Research & Action Center said in a statement.
