Guy Stroczynski, the Warehouse Operations Manager of Crown Relocations of Chicago, and has team have been dedicated to the fight against hunger for years. Crown Relocation has been a valued contributor to Move for Hunger’s mission since joining our network in 2010 -- to date, they have delivered more than 163,000 pounds of food (135,384 meals)!
Stroczynski says that Crown Relocations first got involved with Move for Hunger because our mission fell in line with their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to their community. Crown Relocations has partnered with various members of the community, but perhaps their most outstanding relationship is with Caputo's Fresh Market. Each week, Crown Relocations picks up and donates upwards of 1,000 pounds to the York Township Food Pantry. They mostly rescue fresh fruits, dairy, and meats from Caputo’s, which are some of the more sought-after items by food pantries.
"Everybody really enjoys helping out. It gives them something to. I do it every Thursday and I invite everybody down to help. It’s really cool that the company allows me the time to do this," said Stroczynski, when asked about how the food rescues impact his staff.
Guy emphasized that their partnership with Move for Hunger has made it easy to serve the community. His passion for helping others was transparent and he encourages others to get involved in any way possible.
"It’s a no-brainer. It’s simple to take a couple minutes out of your day to help, and help somebody who’s in need." was one of Guy's final messages to us.
Nearly 730,000 people, including 1 in 5 children, go hungry each night in Cook County, IL. Thanks to Guy and the entire Crown Relocation team for all of your hard work and dedication in the fight against hunger.
