Destined by fate with a genuine concern for the well being of others Mr. Robert Leotti or “Bob,” as he prefers, is a well educated, articulate man with a modest demeanor and deep rooted philanthropic conviction. It was my great pleasure to interview him.
Bob has been with Crown Relocations for the past 10 years; an indisputably great company to work for. He is the GM of the Northeast covering New York to Maine and west to Ohio. I learned that Crown requires every employee in every office to commit at least one day of volunteer work each year, and every office, globally, must commit to a project. In North America the organization they support is Move For Hunger: How lucky are we? Each office has a weight goal that must be achieved and reported monthly. This creates a friendly and fun competition amongst the managers. Their competitive nature is beneficial to us all.
This in house competition inadvertently won them the 2014 International Mover Of The Year Award, accomplished by adapting Move For Hunger's goals as their own, in addition to dedication and hard work. Bob says they would love to win that award every year, and credits his team with their success, but as I mentioned, he is a charitable man, and truly, he would like others' efforts to be recognized, as well, and believes the accolade should be spread among the many partners at Move For Hunger.
Bob feels that Crown's formula of incorporating charity into their business practices is right for success and encourages other moving companies to get on board, or for those already involved to step up their game. It’s been full steam ahead ever since Crown figured out how to execute and implement the tenets of the Move For Hunger program with the proper vernacular. Adding Move For Hunger to their mix of sales tools, Crown Relocations has found the perfect recipe to create benefits for both organizations. He says once people understand that it’s more than moving boxes and furniture, but rather about helping your local community, your friend, neighbor, loved one or someone else that may have fell upon hard times, the audience softens to the idea, even in the board room.
“It’s easy to help your neighbor, to help someone in need," explained Bob, "and if you engage in that process, you’re a better person for it, and you’ll feel the benefits immediately."
So I say to all of you: Get out there and do something! And thank you again, Mr. Robert Leotti, “Bob” and Crown Worldwide Group for all your efforts in making the world a better place for us all.
