The Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday (February 7th) and rather than throwing a normal and boring party, why not host one that benefits the entire community?
Souper Bowl of Caring is capitalizing on the excitement around this weekend, gathering groups of people to help those who are suffering from hunger. Created in 1990, they have generated more than $100 million for local food banks, soup kitchens, and other charities. This year, and every year, young people ask for donations up until the day of the Super Bowl. Additionally, the Saturday before the big game, they organize volunteering opportunities at participating charities in "Souper Cities" (which include Austin, TX, Columbia, SC, Dallas, TX, and Houston, TX).
This year, they have already collected 77,363 food items, helped 105 charities, and raised $537,225. Encourage your Super Bowl party guests to bring a donation this Sunday to help this worthy cause.
