Al's Moving & Storage and Bronxville Students Fight Hunger in Westchester County
For the third year in a row, Bronxville High School and Middle School in New York partnered with Al’s Moving and Storage to hold a fall food drive. Students, teachers, and administrators were encouraged to donate non-perishable, Thanksgiving-themed food items to help provide meals for their neighbors in need in time for the holiday.
Thanks to their commitment to fighting hunger and the generosity of the Bronxville community, more than 350 pounds of food was collected – that’s the equivalent of 300 meals!
Connecticut Woman Collects 1,000 Pounds of Food in a Single Day!
On November 19, Theresa Paulovic hosted her second annual Fill-A-Van food drive. Members of her community in Norwalk, CT were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to her home in an effort to help provide meals for their neighbors in need.
During this one day event, she was able to collect more than 1,000 pounds of food – that equates to 830 meals for local families in need! Kaster Moving, an Atlas agent, made it possible by donating boxes for the collection and a van for the day.
City Transfer and Storage Reaches Their Goal...And Then Some
City Transfer and Storage, an Atlas agent based in North Carolina, set a goal to collect 1,500 pounds of food during their three-week long food drive. Thanks to the generosity of their employees and members of the local community, they easily surpassed that total and collected nearly 1,900 pounds of non-perishable food. That’s enough to provide about 1,500 meals!
Scobey Moving & Storage Steps Up
Harker Heights High School in Texas held a food drive from October 24-November 14. Classes competed against eachother to see who could collect the most food – with the winners receiving a pizza party. When all was said and done, the students had collected nearly 2,900 pounds of food – that equates to more than 2,400 meals for their neighbors in need. Our friends Scobey Moving and Storage generously provided boxes for the collection and delivered all of the donations to the Food Care Center.
