The Farm Fresh Fill A Truck series featured food drives at three different Farm Fresh Grocery locations across Virginia this past June. These Fill A Truck drives provide lifesaving meals for the less fortunate when the need is the greatest-during the summer months.
The crew at Seaford Transfer, an agent of Wheaton Van Lines, dedicated an entire day to collecting food donations for the less fortunate of South Eastern Virginia. Seaford parked one of their trucks outside the Farm Fresh and urged customers as well as members of the community to pick up an extra can or two to support the food supply of the local food banks.
After a great day of volunteering, the crew was able to collect over 1,400 lbs. of food, enough to provide a meal for more than 1,200 individuals throughout Virginia. Did you know? Nearly one million people in the state of Virginia are considered food insecure including 300,000 children.
