In Northwest North Carolina nearly 62,000 people do not know when their next meal will be. City Transfer and Storage teamed up with Move For Hunger to fight hunger in the community by holding a dual location food drive. The event took place from October 19, 2015 until November 3, 2015 with locations in Winston Salem, NC and High Point, NC. All donations were brought to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina which serves 18 counties in Northwest North Carolina. In fact, 17% of the population relies on the food bank for their groceries!
The food drive was a tremendous success, 1040 lbs of food were collected! That's enough food to provide nearly 900 meals to neighbors in need!
The entire staff at Move For Hunger would like to extend huge thanks to City Transfer and Storage, an agent of Atlas Van Lines, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, and all those that made the event thrive.
