Brandon Moving and Storage hosted another "Fill-A-Truck" food drive at the Price Cutter Food Warehouse in Conway, Arkansas on September 9. In just a few hours, they managed to collect 2,000 pounds of food which is equivalent to 1,650 meals! All of the food was donated to the Community Action Program of Central Arkansas (CAPCA), a non-profit organization that supplies food pantries in Faulkner, Cleburne, and White Counties.
Brandon Moving and Storage is a Bekins Agent, located in North Little Rock. Since 2013, they have collected more than 24,000 pounds of food which is equivalent to 20,000 meals.
Don Henson, the Managing Director at Brandon Moving and Storage expressed his enthusiasm towards the event in a follow-up interview. Henson mentioned how rewarding the past events were and how Brandon Moving and Storage aims to crush their upcoming food drives!
So what keeps Brandon Moving and Storage moving?
With eight food drives completed this year already, and more still to come, it's obvious that Brandon Moving and Storage is committed to helping their neighbors in need. Henson said that his motivation is driven by the children of his community.
"The reward for me, personally, is the kids and making sure they aren't hungry," he said. "I can't just sit in my office and think about it. I need to know these kids are okay."
Henson's energy is truly inspiring. He mentioned that one of the things he most enjoys is being able to talk to some of the families he was helping. Henson said that he finds the motivation to help out more when he talks to the people at the food drives and uncovers what they are going through.
Brandon Moving
and Storage has provided a tremendous amount of support for those in need. To summarize why they feel the obligation to do so much, Henson shared a famous quote from Muhammad Ali: "The service you do for others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth." He said that quote resonates with him and inspires him and his company to continually give back.
It doesn't seem possible for Henson and his team to give more than they already have, but he Henson promised that "2018 is going to be bigger and better." We believe him.
