We recently worked with Barfield Elementary School to fight hunger in Murfreesboro, TN. The food drive was held on December 18, just a few days before the holidays! Together the students, staff, and families donated an outstanding total of 3,520 lbs. of food, which means approximately 2,930 meals were provided to their neighbors in need.
Our longtime partners from Apex Moving + Storage, an Atlas Van Lines agent, volunteered to help the school by providing boxes and delivering all of the donations to the local food pantry, Greenhouse Ministries.
A shocking amount of people -- 1.1 million, including 1 in 5 children -- face food insecurity in Tennessee. Congratulations to the motivated students, faculty, and families of Barfield Elementary School for making a crucial contribution to the fight against hunger. You are truly making a difference in your community!
