Tippet-Richardson Moving & Storage of Calgary was at it again earlier this June when they hosted their second annual Fill-A-Truck food drive in Calgary!
Tippet-Richardson parked an empty moving truck outside of their local Save-On-Foods and challenged their community to fill the entire truck with non-perishable items that could later be donated to the local Calgary Food Bank. This was a great way to encourage shoppers to pick up a few extra items while they were at the grocery store so that they, too, could get involved in the fight against hunger.
Despite the bad weather that day, community members still rallied together to fill the truck with more than 225 pounds of food in just three hours, which translates into 187 meals for their neighbors in need. Events like this are incredibly important to the Calgary Food Bank, where 4 out of 10 clients are children.
Over the past two years, Tippet-Richardson has collected 606 lbs. of food and provided 505 meals for the Calgary community!
