Vue Fremont Hosts a Back-to-School Food Drive, Collects 220 LBS. of Food!

October 31, 2018

Our multi-family apartment program is rapidly expanding, and properties from all across the country are now providing their residents with the opportunity to donate their food when they move. Many of the communities, however, aren't content to stop there - they want to do more. And with the introduction of our new Featured Campaigns, there's no shortage of ways for them to get involved!

From September 1-8 Vue Fremont, an FPI Management property in Fremont, CA, held a Back-to-School Food Drive to collect peanut butter, jelly, applesauce, trail mix, granola, and other kid-friendly snacks, to help fill lunchboxes in their community. September also happens to be Hunger Action Month, so this was the perfect time to hold their first food drive!

By the end of the week, the staff and residents had donated 220 lbs. of food, which is enough to provide 180 meals! Our friends from Alexander's Mobility Services of Hayward, an Atlas Van Lines agent, volunteered to deliver all of the donations to the Tri-City Volunteers Food Bank and Thrift Store.

More than 214,000 people in Alameda County are food insecure, including 1 in 7 children. Thank you to everyone from Vue Fremont and Alexander's Mobility Services for helping to fight hunger your community!

Now it's your turn! Check out our brand-new Featured Campaigns page for a list of easy, fun food drive ideas!
