June 18, 2020

Unique Moving & Storage joined the Move For Hunger network in April to help fight hunger in Ventura County, California during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unique Moving and Storage- Del Monte- Ventura Food Bank Transport 2020 (2).jpgThe economic disruption caused by the coronavirus has forced millions of people to seek assistance from their local food banks & pantries. Feeding America estimates that the number of Americans who are facing food insecurity has increased by 46% during the pandemic.

Moving companies from across the country, like Unique Moving & Storage, have stepped up to help meet the demand. The Oxnard, CA moving company has been volunteering to transport fresh produce from local distributors to Food Share of Ventura County. Since May, they have delivered nearly 20,000 lbs. of melons, pineapples, cucumbers, and apples to the food bank - that's the the equivalent of 16,600 meals.

Thank you to Rodney Watson and everyone at Unique Moving & Storage for doing your part to help fight hunger during this crisis.
