Each month, Move For Hunger highlights a moving company that has gone above and beyond with their work to fight against hunger. The first company of 2024 to be awarded with this honor is Just-In Time Moving!
Just-In Time Moving, based in Mesa, AZ, completed over 200 food transports to the United Food Bank, moving over 1.6 million lbs of food in 2023! This translates to 1.3 million meals provided to food insecure communities in the Mesa area.
“We originally partnered with Mover For Hunger when Adam Lowy spoke at the Industry Association Yearly Conference, and they were celebrating the achievements of Move For Hunger from being 10 years old as an organization and how easy it was to get involved. I mean, we have trucks and have boxes and moved customers who have food that they sometimes throw away. What we didn't realize was that COVID and other struggles would start less than a year later, and we would get a call from a local food bank who needed help through Move For Hunger.”-
Just-In Time Moving joined the Move For Hunger network in 2019 and has since helped transport over 5.3 million lbs of donations from various food drives and events. This provides over 3.5 million meals to communities in need!
“Our first year partnering with Move For Hunger, in 2020, we transported over 860,000 pounds of donations. Our second year, we transported over 1.3 million pounds, then over 1.4 million pounds, and last year over 1.6 million pounds. Our team hasn't let up and United Food Bank in Mesa and Mover For Hunger have become family to us as we are all in this together. Our goal is not to simply transport the most every year but to hopefully motivate others to do their part, do something and hopefully transport more than us in a calendar year."-
In Arizona, more than 1.2 million people are struggling with food insecurity, including nearly 400,000 children. Every donation transport our network makes helps put food on the table for families who don’t have enough.
