MIDLOTHIAN, VA – Stewart Moving & Storage and Move For Hunger have renewed their partnership to reduce food waste and fight hunger in the United States. As a member of the Move For Hunger network since 2016, and a proud partner of the hunger-relief organization for the past two years, Stewart Moving & Storage’s nine branches has provided more than 40,000 meals to people in the communities they serve.
People throw away a lot of things when they move, including food. Stewart Moving & Storage educates their customers about the issues of hunger and food waste and encourages them to donate their non-perishable food items when they move. Stewart Moving & Storage then delivers the donations to the local food bank or pantry, free of charge.
“More than 40 million Americans face hunger every day, but we are wasting 40% of the food in the United States each year,” said Adam Lowy, Executive Director and Founder of Move For Hunger. “Stewart Moving & Storage is providing a sustainable solution to both problems.
