Jefferson Apartment Group Collects Nearly 450 LBS. of Food

March 6, 2020

Our friends from Jefferson Apartment Group held a Thanksgiving Food Drive at 4 properties to help share their abundance during the holiday season.

For the entire month of November, employees and residents at each of the four apartment communities - Jefferson Arbors, Jefferson Square at Washington Hill, Somerset Park, and Jefferson Mount Laurel - were encouraged to donate non-perishable,food to help provide holiday meals for their neighbors in need. Thanksgiving-themed items, such as cranberry sauce, gravy, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, and pie filling, were specifically requested.

The four communities collected a grand total of 446 lbs. of food - which is the equivalent of 370 meals! Although every property made a significant contribution, Jefferson Square at Washington Hill led the way donating 300 lbs. of food! Our partners from CORT made the whole thing possible by volunteering to pick up the donations from each property and delivering it al to a local food bank.

There are currently 40 million Americans who are food insecure, including 1 in 6 children. Thank you Jefferson Apartment Group and CORT for doing your part to help fight hunger in the United States!
