Five-Star Moving Crew Transports 2,500 LBS. of Food

April 22, 2020

Food banks are struggling to meet the increasing need for assistance caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and members of the Move For Hunger network have been volunteering to help whenever they can! Just last week, for example, the team from Five Star Moving Crew volunteered to deliver 2,500 lbs. of food - that's approximately 2,000 meals - from an Amazon warehouse to God's Kitchen of Kenosha, an organization that provides food, clothing, and supplies to vulnerable populations in the area.

Five-Star Moving Crew is one of the newest members of our network, and they have made an immediate impact. Since joining Move For Hunger in July, Five Star Moving Crew has delivered 4,500 lbs. of food and provided nearly 4,000 meals to people in their community.

Nearly 600,00 people in Wisconsin, including 1 in 6 children are facing food insecurity prior to the coronavirus outrbreak. Those numbers have only multiplied in recent weeks. Thank you to the Five-Star Moving Crew for continuing to help your neighbors in need, even during this extremely difficult time.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has left a massive economic impact and has drastically increased the need for emergency food assistance nationwide. Move For Hunger is actively searching for ways to meet the demand, but we're going to need your help.

If you can, please consider making a donation to Move For Hunger. With your support, we'll be able to rapidly respond and mobilize our network in communities across the United States and Canada.
