Equity Residential Northwest is a new member of our Multi-Family Apartment program and to celebrate they hosted a food drive at 11 of their properties in Washington during Hunger Action Month. Employees and residents were encouraged to donate nutritional, non-perishable foods such as peanut butter, low-sodium canned vegetables, canned chicken or tuna fish, rice, and more.
The following locations participated in the month-long effort: Centennial Tower and Court, Riverpark, Olympus, Alcyone, Chelsea Square, Odin, Harrison Square, Moda, Rianna, Urbana, and Uwajimaya Village Apartments.
In total, Equity Residential collected more than 420 lbs. of food, which is equivalent to 350 meals! Our friends at ABODA of Seattle volunteered to pick up the donations from each location and deliver them to the Northwest Harvest food bank.
More than 915,000 people in Washington state are food insecure, including 1 in 6 children. We are beyond proud of Equity Residential Northwest's efforts to fight hunger and spread the awareness in the communities they serve. Thank you to ABODA, as well, for donating your time and resources to help make this food drive possible!
