Dixie Moving & Storage, a Bekins agent located in Dixie, Utah, held a food drive during the St. George Marathon Expo at the Dixie Convention Center on October 6. This popular event was a perfect opportunity for Dixie Moving & Storage to raise awareness about hunger in Utah and to lend a helping hand to their neighbors in need.
Dixie Moving & Storage set up boxes at their booth to collect non-perishable donations and a jug for monetary donations. They encouraged attendees to bring non-perishable foods like cereal, rice, canned vegetables, applesauce, and granola bars. The runners were given t-shirts and raffle tickets for a chance to win free entry into next year's race if they donated food.
In just a few short hours, Dixie Moving & Storage was able to collect 300 pounds of food, which is enough to provide 250 meals! They also raised $200 in monetary donations which will help fund our hunger relief and food waste reduction programs.
