This year, Shark Week became a great opportunity to fight hunger. Summer is difficult for children who primarily depend on school meals, which is why Daryl Flood and Dependable Relocation held their own Shark Week food drive at 8 of their locations in Texas: Coppell, Houston, Round Rock, San Antonio, El Paso, Austin, and Lubbock.
Employees were encouraged to help fight summer hunger by donating non-perishables such as tuna, salmon, clam chowder, and other seafood fare. Together, they collected nearly 580 lbs of food, which is enough to provide 480 meals for their neighbors in need. That's a grand fin-ale if I ever saw one!
More than 4 million Texans are food insecure, including 1 in 4 children. Thank you to everyone at Daryl Flood and Dependable Relocations for making waves by participating in a great cause!
