Nearly 208,000 children in South Carolina face hunger every day. This September, Darby Development decided to do something about it. We partnered with 10 of their apartment aommunities in the greater Charleston area to hold Back to School Food Drives.
From September 4-30, the 10 properties celebrated the start of a new school year and Hunger Action Month by asking residents to donate non-perishable items like peanut butter, jelly, applesauce, trail mix, granola, and other kid-friendly snacks to help fill lunchboxes in their community. Our friends from Azalea Moving & Storage assisted with the effort by donating collection boxes AND volunteering to pick up and deliver all of the donations to the Low Country Food Bank.
