Located in Sun City, Arizona, known as The Original Fun City, The Place at Fountains at Sun City is an Independent Living 55+ Community placed in Maricopa County that has donated over 1,250 meals to local communities in need, making them November’s Community of the Month!
In October, The Place at Fountains at Sun City, a MC Companies property, hosted a Trick or Can Food Drive as their second event with Move For Hunger and donated over 500lbs of food, supplying more than 400 meals to the Azcend Food Pantry.
Since joining the Move For Hunger network last November, The Place at Fountains at Sun City has hosted two successful events raising donations for local food insecure communities. Their first event, a Spring into Action Food Drive, brought in over 1,000lbs of food donations.
We’re also thankful for CORT Phoenix for transporting the donations! CORT Phoenix has been working with Move For Hunger over the past several years to transport food donations to local food banks and has moved more than 4,000lbs, equalling over 3,000 meals, this year.
In Arizona alone, over 900,000 people are food insecure, with over 280,000 children not knowing where their next meal will come from. In Maricopa County, there are more than 500,000 people living with food insecurity. We’re beyond grateful for every community that has joined us in the fight against hunger!
