Each month, Move For Hunger awards and highlights our moving companies that have gone above and beyond with their work to fight against hunger! Over the past year, Move For Hunger has taken leaps in reducing global food waste by collaborating directly with farms to transport fresh foods that otherwise may have been wasted, to food banks to be used and distributed to families in need.
July’s Mover of the Month has stepped up and donated their time and resources to transport fresh food in their area to help make a difference in their community; and we are so excited to announce Paxton Van Lines as July 2022’s Mover of the Month!
Paxton Van Lines, located in Springfield, Virginia, has been working with Move For Hunger since 2011. Over the last 11 years, Paxton has collected over 191,900 lbs of food, which is equivalent to nearly 160,000 meals!
“Giving back to the communities we serve has long been a hallmark of our corporate citizenship goals,” said Tera Beatty of Paxton Van Lines. “Move for Hunger has been a great partner to help us achieve our corporate goals and makes finding and organizing opportunities to give back easy!”
Since the introduction of our Fresh Food Program, Paxton has been providing consistent transports with Move for Hunger and the Dale City Farmers Market every Sunday since May 2022. Over the past three months, Paxton Van Lines has been crushing it and transporting over 41,850 meals to the Northern Virginia Food Rescue!
“We’d like to thank our dedicated team who show up time and again for Paxton’s charitable projects and - a special shout out to Tyrone Agnew who has led the fresh produce & foods operation this Spring and Summer,” Beatty continued. “As Paxton celebrates our 75th Year Anniversary we look forward to continuing our partnership with Move for Hunger into the future.”
Congratulations to Paxton Van Lines on being named July 2022’s Mover of the Month!! Thank you so much for your continuous commitment and support in fighting hunger! If you are a mover and would like to make a difference in the communities you serve, consider joining the Move for Hunger network!
