We are thrilled for you to meet our Special Events Coordinator, Alexa Mezzacappa! Dedicated to supporting our mission, she's an essential part of making Move For Hunger events happen.
What Do You Do At Move For Hunger?
I am the Special Events Coordinator. My role encompasses supporting and planning a diverse range of events such as food drives, employee engagement activities, and fundraising initiatives.
Why did you join Move For Hunger?
I interned with Move For Hunger in college and really enjoyed my time with them. After graduating college, I worked for a handbag company for two years, and then made my way back to Move For Hunger. It is like I never left!
What do you like about working at Move For Hunger?
Seeing the impact of our events firsthand and assessing their success provides me with a sense of accomplishment and motivates me to continually improve and innovate in my role.
What’s something that you’re working on right now that you’re excited about?
I am excited for all of the upcoming events in the summer and the chance to witness the positive impact they have on our organization and community.
Who has influenced you the most?
My parents - they both taught me to work hard and chase after my dreams.
What food could you eat every day and never get tired of?
Pizza or pasta.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
“If it won’t matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes worrying about it.”
