App Folio helped us fight hunger during the holidays by hosting Season of Giving Food Drives at their offices in Boston, MA and Santa Barbara, CA from December 2 to 20.
Employees at each branch were asked to bring in donations of non-perishable food to help provide holiday meals for their neighbors in need. Together, the two branches combined to collect 340 pounds of food, which provided more than 280 meals to local families facing hunger. Although both locations made an impact, the Santa Barbara location dominated by collecting 250 pounds of food, which will provide more than 200 meals people in their community.
Thank you to our friends from Hazelwood Allied Moving & Storage and Gentle Giant Moving Company for assisting with the drive by picking up the donations and delivering them to the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County and The Greater Boston Food Bank, respectively.
Hunger isn't just a problem during the holiday season. There are more than 40 million people in the United States who experience food insecurity every day, including 1 in 6 children.
