Apex Moving & Storage Fights Hunger in the Music City

February 1, 2017

NASHVILLE, TN - Apex Moving & Storage, an agent of Atlas Van Lines, has wrapped three of its moving trucks to encourage the local community to donate food when they move. Nearly 17% of Tennesseans, including 1 in 4 children, struggle with food insecurity. As a proud partner of Move For Hunger, a national non-profit organization, Apex Moving & Storage offers to pick up any unopened, non-perishable food items from its customers, year-round, to distribute to local food banks. To date, Apex Moving & Storage has delivered more than 200 pounds of food to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee – providing more than 180 meals to its neighbors in need.

“More than 1.1 million people in Tennessee face hunger each and every day. These trucks offer a call to action for people who want to help,” says Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “We’re proud to be partners with companies like Apex Moving & Storage and Atlas Van Lines, who are dedicated to making a difference in the communities they serve.”

“The Move for Hunger program is a natural extension of what we at Apex want to do for our local and national communities,” says Chris Jones of Apex Moving & Storage. “Hunger is an epidemic and is prevalent in the inner city and rural areas.  We feel blessed to be able to participate in the Move for Hunger program and create awareness of how everyone can help.”
