Everyone deserves to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with their family and friends. This year, our partners from American Van Lines of Pompano Beach office decided to share their abundance by holding a food drive from October 9-November 10. They asked for donations of Thanksgiving-themed, non-perishable items, such as cranberry sauce, gravy, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, and pie filling to help set the table for a family in need.
The goal they had set was originally 300 lbs, which equated to 5 lbs. per employee. But, in typical American Van Lines fashion, they went above and beyond by collecting 520 lbs. of food, which is approximately 430 meals! All donations were delivered to the Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale.
There are more than 2.8 million food insecure people in Florida, including 1 in 5 children. A big thank you to everyone from American Van Lines's Pompano Beach Office for your generous contributions!
