Stevens Van Lines became an official partner of Move For Hunger in 2015. Eighteen of their agents are currently members of our network and are collecting non-perishable food items from their customers and delivering them to local food banks/pantries. But their commitment doesn't stop there! Stevens agents have also volunteered their time and resources to food drives in the communities they serve.
Through all of their generous endeavors, Stevens agents have delivered more than 88,000 lbs. of food, which is enough to provide 73,000 meals! Let's take a closer look at some of the ways Stevens agents are making an impact.
Moving Ahead Services Delivers 350 LBS. of Food to Local Food Bank
This past summer, Moving Ahead Services of Columbus volunteered to help McKesson Medical-Surgical hold a food drive. Moving Ahead Services provided collection boxes and delivered all of the donations to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
Our friends at Midwest Moving & Storage held a Fill-A-Truck food drive from November 20-December 18! Residents were asked to donate non-perishable items for the cause. Nearly 300 lbs. of food were collected in total, enough to provide 230 meals! All of the donations were delivered to the School District 54 Food Pantry at Margaret Mead Junior High.
Stevens Worldwide Collects 200 LBS. of Food During Spring Food Drive
Stevens Worldwide held a ‘Spring Cleaning’ food drive from March 27-April 10, 2017 at their office in Saginaw, MI. The staff donated 200 lbs. of food – enough to provide 160 meals! Stevens Worldwide Van Lines personally delivered all of the donations to the City Rescue Mission of Saginaw.
Apex Moving & Storage Collects Nearly 7,000 LBS. of Food at Washington State Fair
Apex Moving & Storage volunteered at the Washington State Fair to collect donations at two of the gates of the First Day Food Drive. The moving company collected nearly 6,800 lbs. of food, which is the equivalent of 5,660 meals!
