Food Drive Competition Hosted by THS National Raised over 1,700 in Food Donations

November 17, 2020

Nothing gets people going like a little competition. This summer, THS National, the experts in Multifamily Renovation, hosted the THS Grub Drop, a Food Drive competition.

There were 18 different multifamily properties from across the nation that participated in the event. All of the properties combined to donate over 1,700 lbs of food which is the equivalent of 1,464 meals.

Now, we can’t have a competition without a winner, and the property that took the crown was Indigo Apartments, a Bell Partners property. Situated halfway between Raliegh and Durham, Indigo Apartments raised over 300 lbs by itself!

Because community is an extension of family, it is important we take care of each other,” said Shari Hooker, Community Manager of Indigo Apartments.  “We are fortunate that we have the opportunity to give back and invest in our community – so when we see a need, we make every effort to meet the need.  As COVID continues to strain the economy and our community, we are partnering with organizations that offer assistance to those in need."

This food comes at a time of desperate need. At the start of the year, 37 million Americans were considered food insecure. It has been estimated that another 17 million more people have been added to that list due to the impact of the pandemic.

We also have to give a special thank you to our awesome movers who helped transport all the food - All American Relocation, CORT Washington D.C., Little Guy Movers - Wilmington, Atlantic Relocation Systems - Tampa, and Davis Landscape.

“The partnership that Bell Partners has with Move For Hunger offers all associates the opportunity to give back and become a part of the community where they work, live and play.  It’s an opportunity to buy-in and become a part of something larger than ourselves.  Giving back promotes pride in our communities, it promotes a feeling of love and appreciation for our company, our team members, and our residents and it promotes the feeling of community/family by being a part of something important.”
