Northwest Christian Schools in Colbert, Washington had six classes compete against each other to see which could donate the most non-perishable food during the holiday season. In just one week, the students were able to donate 850 lbs. of food combined, which will provide 700 meals for food insecure families in the local community.
Our partners from Move Northwest of Spokane provided collection boxes and volunteered to deliver all of the donations to Second Harvest Food Bank.
In Spokane County, there are more than 73,000 citizens that experience food insecurity on a daily basis, including 1 in 5 children. Thank you to the generous students at Northwest Christian Schools for making such a positive difference in the local community.
