Weekend Warriors | Brandon Moving & Storage Fights Hunger with Back-to-Back Fill-A-Truck Food Drives

July 12, 2018 | 3:46pm

Here at Move For Hunger, we are continuously blown away by the challenges our movers undertake to fight hunger in their communities.  Our friends at Brandon Moving & Storage, a Bekins agent are no exception: they recently hosted back to back Fill-A-Truck food drives, which were a huge success!

More than 1,160 lbs. of non-perishable food were collected at the Walmart Super Center in Clinton on Saturday, July 7 and delivered to the Choctaw Food Bank. Oe day later, Brandon Moving & Storage filled their moving trucks with more than 1,400. lbs of non-perishable food items at the 10 Box Cost Plus in Conway. These donations were brought to the Community Action Program for Central Arkansas (CAPCA).

In one weekend, Brandon Moving & Storage collected more than 2,500 lbs. of food - enough to provide 2,100 meals to those in need! With more than 500,000 people, including 1 in 4 children, in Arkansas struggling with food insecurity, the company’s efforts are sure to have a major impact on the local community!

This year alone, Brandon Moving & Storage has hosted a total of five food drives to benefit the communities of Van Buren and Faulkner counties, collecting more than 7,400 lbs. of food!

Thank you so much to Don, Kyle, and everyone at Brandon Moving & Storage for your dedication and to determination fight hunger in Arkansas! You are truly a great example of how one company can make a huge difference!
