Feeding America’s county-level data estimates that about 14% of Wayne County residents and roughly 1 in 5 children in Michigan face food insecurity, while millions of pounds of good food still go to waste each year. By joining the Motor City Drop, you can help Move For Hunger turn movement into meals for communities in Detroit and beyond.
This event is about showing up for a city built on grit, industry, and resilience. Together, we’ll raise awareness about hunger and food waste while fueling Move For Hunger’s work to recover and deliver more food to the people who need it most.
How to Participate
On September 16, participants will head to the top of Detroit’s iconic Guardian Building for an unforgettable experience. Rappellers will descend from one of the city’s most striking landmarks while raising funds to support Move For Hunger’s mission.
More than just a rappel, the Motor City Drop is a day of energy, visibility, and impact — bringing people together in support of hunger relief in a setting that is unmistakably Detroit.
